WHAT WE DO
The Jackson County Animal Shelter's main purpose is to enforce State Rabies laws which protect our public's health and to provide animal control services. We also provide assistance in many other situations, some of which include:
- Providing adoption and animal re-unification services
- Picking up stray and unwanted animals
- Quarantining bite-case animals, as required by law
- Investigating nuisance and cruelty complaints
- Conducting annual reduced-cost clinics for Rabies vaccinations
- Routine patrolling of the community for violations
- Educating the community about proper pet care, animal control ordinances, and more
